The Estate
Heir of the family estate by his mother, Jean-Michel took over the winery in 1978, which is now spread over an area of 6 hectares between the villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Pommard. Today supported by his son Henri, a promising young winemaker, this estate rooted for centuries in Meursault, offers an exceptional panel among the most beautiful terroirs of the village.
The domain is run cleverly in order to respect the environment. No weed killers are used. Ploughing is undertaken to preserve the soil. All wines are vinified in the traditional way, aged up to 15 to 30% in new barrels, for about 15 to 16 months, without fining or filtration.
The estate is lucky enough to own the largest plot of Perrières, considered by many as the most beautiful plot of Meursault 1er cru, a climate demonstrating powerful and racy wines at the same time, with a mineral expression.
Other emblematic plots cultivated by the estate, the Goutte d’or is characterized by a high altitude giving rich and silky wines, while the Genévrières come from a rather clayey soil, with vines exposed on the east side, pronouncing a lot of freshness in the wines.
